How to renew PKI Certificate

Resources > Q&A > How to renew PKI Certificate
PKI certificate expired every 2 years. Medicare often sends the clinic a renewal CD one month before the expiry date. They also send the PIC to unlock the CD which could be found on a separate letter. You need both the CD and the PIC to renew the Certificate.

This can be done anytime even when someone is using Practice 2000
  1. On the server, open Practice 2000
  2. Go to Admin Tasks > Setup > Medicare Online Setup
  3. Click on PKI Certificate Manager
  4. On the personal tab, highlight the first expired certificate then click on Tools => Remove. Enter the password (password00) to confirm
  5. Repeat step 4 with the second “expired” certificate
  6. Click on Install. Enter the password (password00). Select the location of the renewal CD and enter the PIC supplied
  7. Click Finish and close the PKI Manager
